BADMINTON RALLY,
2000
The Badminton rally this year was held on April 2nd. It was kindly hosted
by Mr. Colin Henderson who gives up his time to organise this rally for
our club for which we are really grateful.
The weather was fine !! We had a splendid drive going through part of
Badminton Park which I knew our members always enjoy.
We often
have spectators as we go by, these were very excited by our passage.
We met a scatty racehorse being exercised which was in front of us when we
came out of the park and it held us up for a while but thankfully it went
the other way to us at the next cross roads. (From where I was sat
“scatty” is an understatement!! Ed) We then drove on to Luckington and the
lovely countryside which we always enjoy and eventually arrived at Mr. and
Mrs Colletts farm at Littleton Drew where we stopped for for some nice
refreshments kindly provided by Colin.
Unfortunately Mr. Collett has not been too well of late and was in
hospital at the time so we missed seeing him and Mrs Collett, we send our
best wishes to them both and thank them for letting us use their farm
yard.
Moving away
from the refreshment stop.
After our break we moved off towards Acton Turville and eventually back to
Badminton a very pleasant rally enjoyed by all.
Colin presented Annie Rich with his trophy this year. We would like to
thank everyone who helped in any way to make this such a good rally and
especially Colin, the whips, stewards and club members who came along to
support.
