January
6th. from East Woodlands near Frome.
We were very pleased to finally
be having a rally after the long lay off, it was also the first New Year's
Rally for some time. We had four turnouts participating, the weather was
kind to us, no rain and warm for the time of year.
As a variation from previous
rallies from the same venue a large part of the route was off road,
necessitating a dash the long way round by the escort cars to get ahead of
the turnouts before they emerged back on to the road.

The photo above shows them
reappearing, they had been able to see the giraffes in the Safari Park
whilst making their way along the tracks, just as well it wasn't the lions
!! Makes my previous wildlife sightings of such things as herons seem
decidedly tame !
The rally passed off all too
quickly before we were back at Annie's for a mug of hot soup and some cake
to revive the intrepid folk who had turned out on a winter's day.
Many thanks to Annie for
letting us use her field, for finding a very good route and for the
refreshments after.
