Watchfield 6
October 2002
This was the last rally
of the year and it was sunny and dry.
The
cars and trailers came rolling into the field followed by a very large
lorry. “Who’s this?” I wondered, not having seen it before. It
stopped, ramp down and out popped Buster, the smallest equine member of
the club.
We
set off on the longest route of the year, right out across the Levels.
Buster got a little left behind on the first stage but we had plenty of
cars to escort him. First stop was at the Bird in Hand at Westhay -
drinks and snacks for those that wanted and 2 cups of tea for Buster.
That did the trick on the second stage, there was no keeping Buster back!
The
second stop was at Burtle, tea and coffee for the humans, buckets of water
and rest for the ponies, and two more cups of tea for Buster as our hosts,
Richard and Rosemary Tucker, didn’t believe he drank it.
Then it was back to
Watchfield where our hosts, Denis and Marion Nuttycombe, were waiting for
us with tea, coffee and cakes - Buster again said “yes please” to a cup of
tea!
Many thanks to all our
hosts and stewards for a great day out.
